We found this office after lots of searching, many other dentists, not all bad, but we knew that the products and services offered at Port Warwick were each carefully selected using the most up to date research and patient individuality in mind.
It is no secret that children are presenting with more and more dental concerns at younger ages. Our son was an especially challenging case, and our family has been treated with grace under some very difficult circumstances. We finally received the airway and mouth breathing help we needed! We finally received the nutritional partnership we needed! We finally found a dentist that doesn't use dangerous products to get the job done! We finally found a dentist office that can understand our holistic lifestyle and not only that- THIS OFFICE WILL ENHANCE YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND HELP YOU GROW!

Dr. Samaha and her team demonstrated supernatural powers as they did what most dentists could not do with a child presenting a unique combination of decay and defiance. Over a very lengthy appointment, their endurance and commitment to doing what needs to be done the right way allowed me to fully trust in God and His provision of their talents and gifts, and let go of all control that many of us parents want to have in these unpleasant situations for our children.

Dr. Samaha is a dental professional you can trust in to provide gentle and loving care to her patients. She explains things to children (and their parents) in a way they can understand and is amazing at making connections with them. She is readily available and will always give you her honest opinion with the data to support it. If you want to have a beautiful smile that is a result of a healthy body, this office can help you to set and achieve goals for total wellness. Our mouth is very much a reflection of our mind-body's state and most dentists entirely ignore that. We have actually had many very impactful homeschooling lessons on nutrition as a result of our discussions with the staff here!! I give this office ONE HUNDRED STARS!!

The experience I had dealing with this office was phenomenal the staff and care that was given outstanding top of the line I honestly before the surgery was done was left with no worries and amazingly at the end there was little to no pain the next day I was feeling 99.9% back with just a little slight discomfort not enough to even take the prescribed medicated medicine I would recommend anybody that needed dental work to visit this office I definitely will go back for any reason dealing with an issue with my teeth I am 100% backing this dental practice they were amazing sincerely a forever client Valentine boroughs!!!! Top of the line most and most recent technology used natural herbal medicines will not would not choose any other dental practice too attend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is truly disappointing that I have to come back and edit this review. I meant every word in the first review below but it is important to me to be honest.

To make a long story short, this practice is very caring up until a point. I was traveling for work and requested that I did not have a filling done right before I traveled because I knew it would be too much. I was urged by Dr.S to have it done anyway. The evening of and day after the procedure I was texted and called and check on which was nice. About 4 days later I was left completely hanging with an insane amount of throbbing pain in my fillings, migraines that just shot across my entire head, an infected tonsil and various other mouth horror stories. When I reached out for help from Dr.S, I heard absolutely nothing. When I reached out to the office, I heard absolutely nothing.

There is no other way to feel but played when you spend so much money looking to have a different dental experience and you end up having an even worse one. To spend thousands and end up still googling and using Reddit to try to ease your own pain is ridiculous.

I have been a patient of Dr. Samaha's for about two months now and have to say I am completely pleased with my experiences. All of the ladies in the office are extremely kind and competent. I have had an especially fun time getting to know Taylor, Angie, and Maria. They are lovely at making you feel comfortable, explaining each procedure, and answering all questions. Dr.Samaha is an amazing artist which is plain to see in the beautiful paintings displayed in her space. She brings this artistry into her dental practice as well. Not only has she given me so much holistic knowledge about improving my dental and overall health, she is taking the time and effort to truly sculpt my smile in a way that makes me feel deeply cared for.

I can't believe the coincidence of this coming up on my timeline today -- I wrote my original review on March 1st last year. Dr. Samaha basically told my partner and I to forgo fertility treatments while trying to have a second child. I wrote my review, and did not take her advice. My second son was born March 1st this year - exactly one year after I wrote this review - perfectly healthy, happy and thriving. I am so incredibly happy I did NOT take her advice.

The scare tactics I received at a fragile time for me at this practice were traumatizing. After writing my original review, she did write me a three page personal letter which she mailed to my house. It alluded to "information" obtained from the visit that I should be made aware of, but I'd have to come back into the office to get it. I chose not to. I found a new dentist who has helped immensely with my crown/implant issues without charging me an insane amount of money for no real service. Also, after telling him about my experience here, his words were "we are dentists - we know teeth, not gynecology. Sure, health is interrelated, but some things are more related than others." Clearly Dr. Samaha has her fans, so take what I have to say however you wish -- but I would not recommend this practice to anyone. It's the only dental office I've been to in the middle of the day on a weekday where we were the only people waiting and since we were literally there for hours and saw no other patients, that says something. It's probably not just me.

After having this holistic dentist experience I will never go back to a regular dentist! It was everything I hoped it would be. They took their time and asked lots of questions to get to the root cause of the issues. They were diligent to let me know the cost of everything beforehand. A holistic dentist isn't for everyone. Some would rather go straight to the chair and have things filled or capped. Holistic dentistry makes sure to cover nutritional deficiencies and how to brush properly. The appt was for my 5yo and he loved it there and can't wait to go back. Everyone was so sweet to him and kept telling him how good of a job he was doing.

I wholeheartedly recommend Port Warwick Dental Arts for anyone who wants the best dental care available in the Tidewater area. Until recently, I opted for using the lowest priced dental procedures available. However, this "shopping strategy" has cost me dearly; both financially and in terms of keeping my teeth as I age! For example: Last month I visited an oral surgeon in Newport News on Warwick Blvd with an aching tooth. This dentist advised that I have an apicoectomy, an endodontic surgical procedure costing about $1,500.00, and afterwards a crown would be necessary, which would cost another $1,500.00.

I decided to get a second opinion on the treatment from Dr. Lisa Marie Samaha, at Port Warwick Dental Arts. Dr. Samaha is renowned for her unique approach to dental care. Most importantly, she does not perform standard treatments just because that is the customary protocol. She took in-depth pictures of the entire structure of the tooth. This additional research helped her determine that the tooth did not have enough "good root" to sustain the crown which would be required after the surgery. So the probability of losing the tooth and the invested $3,000.00 was very high. With this new data I decided to repurpose the money; I chose to remove the tooth and get an implant.

Since then, Dr. Lisa Marie Samaha has been a lifesaver for me, guiding me in my care in the most cost effective practical way. I couldn't be more appreciative of her care and wisdom, and strongly recommend anyone facing dental surgery to get a second opinion from her before committing to a treatment plan.

The entire staff and team at Port Warwick Dental Arts has been amazing to work with. I am thrilled with my experience and interactions so far. They really take their time and explain everything very well so you are comfortable during each visit. From the moment you walk in the door, being greeted by the team in the front area, to the moment you are preparing to leave after your visit, you feel warmly taken care of by them. What I have loved is how much I have learned from Dr. Samaha. She shares her knowledge as she works and I soak up what I can, what makes sense for my life, and apply it in ways that makes sense for me, and for my body. I can't think of another dentist who knows so much about the total body and uses that knowledge, looking for ways to improve her patients' health on a continual basis.

The atmosphere of the office is extremely calming, warm, and inviting. I always leave with a positive outlook and know I have just been taken care of vs run through a mill of a certain number of patients for the day at a normal dental office. I feel that the entire team is well versed and knows what they are talking about. On more than one occasion, the scheduling coordinator (who I feel is more than that, does more than that) has helped explain things to me if I had a question. Amazing!

I cannot say enough about Port Warwick Dental Arts. I have been very pleased with everything and everyone I have dealt with and am happy I found them! They have the health of not only your mouth but your total body in mind -always. I highly recommend Port Warwick Dental Arts!

I wish I could leave 0 stars! This was the worst dental experience ever! The doctor uses scare tactics and ads on additional "needed" treatments every 5 seconds. I almost bought into her craziness but came to my senses after finding out that they aren't participating providers. I was out $600 and had nothing done but X-rays and silly tests AND my appt lasted 3 hours. When I went to my old dentist he crowned the tooth I'd originally gone in for and basically told me everything she'd shared with me was rubbish! It's also been 3 months and I still haven't received anything from my ins company and I've followed up with them several times!

I have been a patient of Dr. Samaha's for many years now and I continue to go back, with a smile, because I have personally found that she is the best at cosmetic dentistry not only in the local Hampton Roads area, but across the country as well. Although I currently live in Los Angeles, I still make frequent appointments to Port Warwick Dental Arts when I am in town either for a simple check up or a major procedure. As someone who works behind the scenes in the entertainment industry, it is extremely important to me that my smile looks as natural and beautiful as possible... and I believe Dr. Samaha is the master of this.

Aside from the outstanding cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Samaha takes a more natural and homeopathic route to treating whatever the problem at hand is, something that is hard to find in dentistry these days (especially around the HR area). I used to suffer from bad headaches almost every day. But instead of just handing me a bottle of ibuprofen like every doctor did, she helped me get rid of the headaches that I would wake up with using a pretty simple oral appliance.

I really appreciate the experience that is Port Warwick Dental Arts, and I would recommend seeing Dr. Samaha and her courteous team to any friend of mine. I only wish she had an office on the west coast....
